One of the most wonderful ways to enjoy Vancouver, British Columbia, is through its parks and its food. Anywhere you stay in the city, it is an easy walk or ride to Stanley Park, their urban treasure.

The entire park is surrounded by water, so if you just do the perimeter, there is a fantastic view at every turn.

You’ll see totems, gardens, water sights and city skyline. After spending hours in the park, it was time to stop for tea. There is a classic teahouse overlooking the water, nestled in the trees that offered the perfect combination of teas and confections.

Lemon tart...almost too beautiful to eat.

Lemon tart…almost too pretty to eat.

I ordered the lemon tart which arrived at my table looking like a work of art. The lemon custard was perfectly cooked in a buttery shell, topped with crystallized lemon zest and a sprig of fresh mint. The plate was painted with a swoosh of raspberry sauce that made it almost too pretty to eat. But I did, anyway, and I was the happiest tea toteler in all of Canada that day!
